Tips for your stay:

We are not currently servicing rooms for guests in-house and our lobby is also closed to guests.

Call, leave a voice message, or email the office for non-urgent items you might need refreshed before 5 pm each day. There is a video doorbell at the front door you can ring at any time between 8 am and 8 pm for urgent items.

If you want to dispose of trash there is a dumpster located to the right of the office. You can drop the bag over the green fence before 5 pm but if after 5 pm, please place inside of dumpster to avoid attracting wildlife!  (Don't forget to RECYCLE all you can!) Alternatively, you can leave the bag outside with your recycling during the day and we will pick it up.

We are in a wild-fire risk area, so there are no outdoor fire pits or outdoor fires allowed anywhere on property (It's illegal!) Please dispose of cigarettes carefully too!

Our water is safe to drink from the tap. It is straight from the river & filtered to state standards, so bring your refillable water bottle and nix the plastic disposables.

Pets must remain with you at all times and on leash. Please pick up after your pet and remember furry friends are not allowed near or in the pools.

(See info at the bottom "Other Ways to Explore 3R" for walks leaving from the property.)

0. Current winter driving conditions can be reached via 559-565-3341.

Press 1, then 1 at the prompts to get current closures & restrictions. Chains can be rented in

Three Rivers at many places throughout town including Gateway Restaurant (next door),

and Totem Market 1 mile away. Cost of chain rental is $35 to $80 depending on your tire size.

Here are some helpful videos if chains are new for you:

WHAT THE HECK ARE CHAINS VIDEO  |     HOW TO PUT CHAINS ON YOUR TIRES VIDEO

1. Start HERE to review the seasonal park guide from Sequoia National Park!

2. Buy your 7 day pass to Sequoia & Kings Canyon here ahead of time!

Sequoia National Park is just 1 minute away from our lodge by car. It takes about 45 minutes

(15 miles) to drive to the altitude of the famous Sequoia trees and is a windy and scenic drive.

There are obvious places to stop and take pictures along the way and of course, watch

carefully for wildlife!

3. The Visitor Centers and all food, lodging, and camping areas remain closed for now so you can

download the official Sequoia National Park app from your app store ahead of time to have

on-board guidance within the park (works without cell service).

4. Check out the current Park weather, as it is a bit cooler and sometimes different at the higher elevations than down at the Lodge.

5. Plan your Park Days:

Some of our favorite day trips are listed below. Remember food services are currently NOT OPEN so pack enough food, snacks, and water for a long day of adventure. Note at higher altitude you can become dehydrated more easily so drink up!

Use this Park Map for Reference

1-Day Itinerary (download) : Moro Rock (350 steps)> Tunnel Log | Crescent Meadow | Lunch at Lodgepole | optional add-on hike Tokopah Falls Trail (4.2 mi)  > General Sherman (1 mi) and the Big Trees Trail (1 mi) | Return to Lodge

1-Day Itinerary, Option for 8-10 miles round trip: Long explorations in the Giant Forest | Tharps Log | General Sherman. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAVING A COPY OF THE MAP ON YOU FOR THIS TRIP since there are lots of loops!

1 Day Itinerary Option 2 (clickable links): Big Trees Trail connect to Sunset Rock trail in morning.

Afternoon: Option to hike Tokopah Falls (4.5 mi round trip) OR scenic drive with some short stops: follow Moro Rock road, park and walk Hanging Rock, then continue loop toward Crescent Meadow through Tunnel Log, stop at Parker Group, stop at Auto Log, and return.

Best Places to see Sunset in the Park: Moro Rock, (or Hanging Rock to watch the Alpenglow turn Moro pink), the aptly named Sunset Rock, or easier access Beetle Rock. Remember to bring a flashlight as it can get dark quite quickly after the sun goes down!

For those lucky guests staying longer..

2-3 Day Itinerary: Choose any Day 1 and for the second day try Mineral King or Kings Canyon (a totally separate National Park!)

Mineral King:  (currently closed until May 2021) We cannot give enough praise to this favorite part of the park. A very windy and steep 23 mile road not for the faint of heart is rewarded with spectacular hikes to various Alpine lakes and always ends with a piece of pie from Silver City Mountain Resort (you won't regret stopping here for dinner, a beer, and a slice after your dayhike)!

Head to the very end of the road for the Mineral King Trailhead. You have options of different hikes to leave from here: just wander through the valley as far as you like or serious hikers can gain some more elevation going to Eagle Lake (7.2 mi) , Mosquito Lake (6.5 mi), or White Chief Canyon (7.1 mi).

Did you know our neighbor Kings Canyon is a totally separate National Park and is even deeper than the Grand Canyon in places? Taking a drive nearly to the end of the aptly named Road's End offers you picturesque views of the Kings River flowing through the deep canyon and many roadside stops for short walks to waterfalls. Zumwalt Meadow in early summer is breathtaking and not to be missed! (read latest road construction delays to Kings Canyon) NOTE: Kings Canyon closes for the winter on November 16th, 2020.

From the lodge start early and either drive through Sequoia National Park or for different scenery take the route around the lake and enter from the East. You will not have any phone reception throughout most of this route so bring a map or GPS enabled app.

King's Canyon: Enter at Grant Grove and feel free to stop in this area for a bathroom break and to see the second largest Sequoia. There is lots of history in this area from times of logging Sequoia's, so more stumps and less concentration of awe-inspiring living Sequoias compared to the Giant Forest.

Drive to Grizzly Falls, stopping for pictures along the way, and feel free to enjoy your picnic lunch at the tables here. After lunch, continue to park at Roaring River Falls to Zumwalt Meadow (4.0 miles) before beginning your return.

  7. We have some of the darkest skies in California. Venture outside to stargaze or join one of our programs. If you're up for an adventure, hike Moro Rock under the light of a full moon.

  8. Enjoy a yoga class , meditation session, or sign up for a wellness retreat at The Canopy yoga studio on property (reopened as of March 1, 2021)

  9. Schedule a massage in a private massage room right here at The Canopy.
