We 1/4 mile (1min) drive from the entrance to Sequoia National Park and 19 miles to General Sherman Tree (45min).

How close are you to Kings Canyon National Park?

We are about 1.25 hrs to the entrance of Kings Canyon but about 2.25 hrs from the bottom of the canyon although the drive is part of the trip!

How have your processes changed with COVID-19?
At the Buckeye Tree Lodge & Cabins we are fortunate to have exterior entrances to all our rooms and cabins. We are also in nature with plenty of fresh air to go around! The only interior public area at the lodge is our lobby/office although we have implemented a contactless checkin and checkout process.

In terms of cleaning, we continue to do our deep cleanings with anti-bacterial cleaners in all our rooms and cabins. We have added extra focus on high touch areas such as remote controls, door knobs, light switches, etc. All our laundry is done high heat to further reduce any risks. We are not servicing the rooms and cabins during your stay but will provide any items you may need during your stay, just let us know!

What's the difference between the lodge rooms and the cabins?
Ahh, great question. The cabins are directly across the street from the the Lodge/river and include private decks or patios overlooking the mountains. The cabins also have larger maximum capacities (so you can fit more friends or family together in one place.) All the Lodge rooms have both views of the river and back door access to shared riverfront sitting areas. Lodge rooms are also more of a hotel room style.

Do you allow pets?

We do welcome all your furry friends! We are pet friendly in all cabins and first floor rooms  for an additional cleaning fee of $30 per pet per night*. There is a maximum of 2 pets allowed per room or cabin. You must stay with your pet at all times and if you need to leave them in the room they MUST be kennel/crate trained and kept in the kennel/crate when you are out. We thank you in advance for cleaning up after your pets and disposing properly into the dumpster located by the office.  Please note, however, that Sequoia National Park does not allow your furry friends to get out of the car inside the park. You can read more about the park's policy here.

*The Riverhouse & Falcon cabin pet fee is $45 per pet per night.

What is your cancellation policy?

All of our reservations have a 7-day cancellation policy. If you fail to timely cancel the reservation for any reason whatsoever, you will be charged the full amount of your stay unless we can re-book your room at the same rate. For this reason, we recommend that you plan accordingly and purchase travel insurance if needed.

Is smoking allowed on property?

All of our rooms are NON-SMOKING but you may smoke outside at designated smoking areas always keeping a minimum 30 ft distance from any rooms or cabins. Smoking in rooms or cabins will incur a min $250 fee.

What is the weather like at the lodge and the park?

The weather at the lodge and in the park can vary significantly due to the altitude change. Please check these links for weather conditions: Three Rivers    Sequoia National Park

Do you have a pool and/or a hot tub at the lodge?

We have 2 pools! The Buckeye Tree Lodge has a beautiful pool built right into the local granite on the river side and a pool across the street at the end of the row of cabins. None of the pools are heated. Both pools have salt-water chlorinating technology keeping them clean without the use of harsh chemicals. Pool towels are available at the front desk (please don't use the room bath towels!) Depending on the time of year, you may also choose to {carefully!} dip your toes in the river. (All swimming is at your own risk.) We do not have any hot tubs on property.

Do you have Wi-Fi or cell reception at the lodge?

We offer complimentary Wi-Fi at the lodge. AT&T is the only local provider with intermittent cell phone reception in the area of Three Rivers but minimal to none around the Lodge. Many phones can work utilizing Wi-Fi Calling by adjusting your phone settings. All Buckeye Tree Lodge rooms are equipped with VOIP phones that will enable you to call anywhere in the U.S. for free. Cabins do not have phones but have access to a landline at the edge of the cabin parking lot.

Alternatively, feel free to enjoy the opportunity to break from your devices for a few days and explore nature 'pre-internet style' by borrowing one of our board games or DVD's, or just spending all of your time playing outside!

How can I book a massage or yoga classes at the lodge?

Massages are available on site for $90-100 for 60min and $140-150 for 90min. Check out the Wellness Page for details and booking.

Do you have mats or cots? Can I bring my own blow-up mattress?

Unfortunately, our max room capacities are firm based on room size and careful consumption of our local natural resources and thus do not allow for the addition of cots, mats or blow-up beds.

Is there fishing at the lodge?
There are plenty of fishing options at and around the lodge. Your success rate will vary based on the season as the river will go from raging in the spring time to very calm in the late summer and fall. The main native fish species in the area are rainbow trout. In addition to that, there are some Sacramento sucker fish and smallmouth bass.

In order to fish in our backyard and around the area, you will need a CA fishing license and respect the local catch and release laws.

We are updating our inventory but will be renting our fishing rods and tackle in the near future so feel free to ask us about it or bring your own!
